Step 1: Soak The Shoes In A Bucket Of Warm Water

To treat oil stains on ballet flats, start by filling a bucket with plain warm water and a few drops of mild liquid dishwashing detergent. Then soak ballet flats in the soapy water for 30 minutes. This will help loosen the oil and make it easier to remove.

Step 2: Scrub With A Brush And Detergent

Once oil stains have been soaking in the water for about 30 minutes, use a soft bristled brush to gently scrub at the oil stains. Add a bit more detergent to the water if needed, and continue to scrub until all the oil is gone. You may need to rinse and repeat a few times in order to completely remove oil.

Step 3: Dry The Ballet Flats Completely

Once you've removed all the oil stains, carefully remove flats from soapy water and pat them dry with a towel. Allow them to air dry completely before wearing or storing them.
