Accidents happen and it’s not always easy to get rid of nasty stains of grease or oil. If you’ve ever had a scissors-gone-rogue incident while trying to cut your favorite Aline dress, you know how hard it can be to remove the oil from fabric. But don’t worry, you’re not stuck with a dress covered in oil stains forever.
What You Will Need:
- Paper towels
- Baking soda
- Hydrogen peroxide
- Dish soap
Instructions:
- First, gently blot the oil stain with paper towels. Do not rub it, as it can make the stain worse. Make sure that you cover the entire stain with the paper towels.
- Sprinkle baking soda on the paper towels. Leave the baking soda on for about 20 minutes so the baking soda has time to absorb the oil.
- Once the baking soda has been on for at least twenty minutes, slowly peel away the paper towels from the stain and dispose of them.
- Mix Hydrogen peroxide with a few drops of dish soap to form a paste.
- Gently apply the paste to the oil stain. Allow it to sit on the stain for at least 15 minutes before washing the garment in cold water.
- After washing, check to make sure stain is gone. If it is still visible, repeat the steps until the stain disappears.
