Windows are often a focal point in your home, so you want to keep them looking clean and clear. But when an unexpected accident happens, like spilling salad dressing on it, you may be at a loss for how to approach the cleanup. Thankfully, getting rid of dressing stains on windows isn’t as difficult as it may seem.

Basic Cleaning Steps

Start by using a dry cloth to immediately mop up as much of spilled dressing as you can. Be sure to use a lint-free cloth in order to avoid leaving behind fibers. Blot area around the spot to absorb any additional liquid.

Next, create a cleaning solution by mixing together equal amounts of water and white vinegar in a bowl. Dip a rag or paper towel into the solution and dab the area of the stain until it is wet. Do not rub or scrub, as this may cause the stain to spread and damage the glass.

Finally, rinse off the stained area with clean water and a damp cloth. When it’s dry, give it a inspection to make sure all dressing residue has been removed.

Streak-Free Shining Finish

For streak-free results, use a glass cleaner and another dry cloth to make window shine. It is best to use a microfiber cloth, as they are designed to pick up the smallest dust particles and leave the surface looking crystal clear.

Wash both sides of the window with glass cleaner and a soft cloth to ensure streak-free, polished finish.
