Step-by-Step Instructions for Removing Salad Dressing Stains from Velvet

  1. Mix equal parts white vinegar with water in a bowl.
  2. Soak the soft cloth in mixture and wring it out.
  3. Gently blot the stain area of the velvet with cloth and solution. Do not rub or scrub the area, as this will damage velvet fibers.
  4. Once the stain has been sufficiently blotted, use a second dry and soft cloth to blot the area.
  5. Allow the velvet to air dry thoroughly.
  6. If the stain still remains after drying, repeat steps 3-5 until the stain is gone.
  7. Optional: Vacuum the velvet surface with an upholstery brush attachment to remove any lingering dirt or dust.
