Get Rid of Salad Dressing Stains from Vans Quickly and Easily

Salad dressing can make for a delicious meal, but if it gets on your favorite pair of vans, it can be somewhat of a disaster. Fortunately, there are several easy ways to get those dreaded salad dressing stains out of your shoes.

Materials

  • Dishwashing detergent
  • A soft cloth or brush
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda

Method 1: Dishwashing Detergent

  1. Mix one teaspoon of dishwashing detergent with two cups of lukewarm water.
  2. Dampen the cloth or brush in the mixture and gently scrub the stained area.
  3. Let the area air dry and check to see if the stain is still visible.
  4. If so, repeat the process until the stain is gone.

Method 2: White Vinegar

  1. Mix one cup of white vinegar with one cup of lukewarm water.
  2. Soak the stained area in the mixture for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Take a clean cloth or brush and gently scrub the area.
  4. Let the area air dry and reapply the solution if the stain is still visible.

Method 3: Baking Soda

  1. Mix one teaspoon of baking soda with one teaspoon of water to create a paste.
  2. Apply the paste to the stained area and let sit for 20 minutes.
  3. Use a clean cloth or brush to scrub the area gently.
  4. Let the area air dry and repeat the process as necessary.

Other Tips

  • It is best to clean stain as soon as possible after it occurs.
  • Be sure to use gentle scrubbing motions when cleaning the stained area.
  • Vans are made of different materials and caution should be taken when cleaning any shoe.
