The first step is to pre-treat the stain with a laundry detergent that contains enzymes. This will help break down the proteins and oils in the salad dressing and make it easier to remove. Put a few drops of the detergent directly onto the stain and rub it in gently with your fingers. Let it sit for about five minutes, then rinse the area with cold water.
Next, mix together equal parts white vinegar and table salt to create a paste. Use an old toothbrush to apply the mixture to the stained area and scrub gently. The vinegar and salt will both act as natural stain removers and help lift the dressing out of the fabric. Let the mixture sit on the stain for 10-15 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water.
Once the stain is gone, you can finish the job by running the t-shirt through the washing machine. Make sure to use cold water and a mild detergent. When it's finished, lay the shirt flat to dry.
