Soap and water is the first tool in your stain-fighting arsenal. Use a clean sponge or cloth dipped in warm water mixed with hand or dish soap to gently rub the stained area.
For tougher stains, try mixing detergent and bleach in equal parts and apply the mixture to the stained area with a sponge. After some scrubbing, you should start to see the stain coming out. Just make sure to avoid using bleach on silk or wool fabrics.
Rubbing alcohol is great for tackling stubborn stains on fabrics like cotton and linen. Simply pour some rubbing alcohol directly on the stain and let it sit for a few minutes. Then, scrub away with a clean cloth.
Vinegar and baking soda are another effective pair for tackling tough stains. Mix together one tablespoon of vinegar and one tablespoon of baking soda in a bowl, then daub the mixture onto stained area. Rinse off after a few minutes and repeat until the stain has been completely removed.
If all else fails, you can always go for a commercial stain remover. Choose one that is tightly focused on removing food stains, as this will give you the best results. Follow the instructions on the label and scrub away until you can no longer see the stain.
