What You'll Need

  • Clean white cloth
  • White vinegar
  • Cold water
  • Liquid laundry detergent

Step 1: Blot the Stain

Use a clean white cloth to blot the salad dressing stain, sopping up as much of it as you can. Do not rub the fabric, as this could spread the stain.

Step 2: Rinse with Cold Water

Gently rinse the area of the fabric that is stained with cold water. This will help remove any remaining residue from the stain.

Step 3: Apply Vinegar Solution

Create a vinegar solution by mixing 1 part white vinegar and 1 part cold water. Dip a clean white cloth into the solution and gently apply the vinegar to the stained area. Allow the solution to sit on the fabric for a few minutes.

Step 4: Rinse Again

Once the vinegar solution has had time to work, rinse fabric with cold water again. This will help remove the vinegar, as well as any remaining stain.

Step 5: Launder with Detergent

Once stain is gone, launder the fabric using liquid laundry detergent in cold water. This will help remove any remaining residue from the vinegar solution and detergent.
