As soon as you realise you’ve spilled salad dressing on your slippers, use paper towels or napkins to blot the stain. Do not use a scrubbing motion as this will spread the stain. The goal is to lift any excess liquid.
Once you’ve blotted the area well, apply a liberal amount of detergent to stained area and let it sit for 5 minutes. Any gentle detergent will do. Avoid using harsh detergents or bleach.
Fill a bucket with lukewarm water and add a small quantity of the gentle detergent that you used in Step 2. Soak the slippers in the bucket for 10-15 minutes.
Take the slippers out of the bucket and rinse them thoroughly with running water. Using a scrub brush, gently scrub the stained area. This should help lift the stains.
Finally, leave your slippers to dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct heat or sunlight. Repeat the steps above if necessary until all traces of the stain have been removed. And there you have it - brand new looking slippers after a little bit of cleaning!
