What You’ll Need:
- Cold water
- A mild liquid detergent
- Oxygen bleach (optional)
- White vinegar (optional)
- Ammonia (optional)
- Absorbent cloths or paper towels
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- As soon as stain appears, grab a stack of absorbent cloths or paper towels, and blot the area to remove as much of the salad dressing as possible.
- Fill a sink with cold water and add a few drops of a mild liquid detergent. Soak the stained area of your skirt in the sink for about 30 minutes.
- Rinse the skirt with cold water, and then spot-treat the stain with oxygen bleach, white vinegar, or ammonia — whichever would be least likely to cause damage.
- Blot the area gently with absorbent cloths or paper towels.
- If the stain is still present, repeat the steps above until it disappears.
- If the stain persists after several attempts, take your skirt to a dry cleaner.
Tips & Considerations
- Be sure to use cold water when treating the stain.
- Do not use hot water, as this may cause the stain to set.
- Always pretest any cleaning solutions on an inconspicuous part of the skirt before using them on the stained area.
