No one wants to be walking around with embarrassing salad dressing stains on their robe. These unsightly spots are not only eye-sores but can be hard to get rid of, even with the most powerful of stain removers. Here's a few simple steps that can help you get your robe looking fresh and new again.

The first step is to remove any excess salad dressing sitting on top of the fabric. To do this, take a paper towel or some other absorbent cloth and run it across the stained area to blot up as much salad dressing as possible. Be sure not to rub or scrub the stain as this can actually make it bigger and harder to get rid of.
Once you’ve removed any excess salad dressing, you should then create a solution composed of cold water and a gentle detergent. Submerge the affected area of your robe in the solution and let it sit for an hour or two. This will help soften the stain, making it easier to get rid of.
When the allotted time is up, take the robe out of the solution and rinse it in warm water. Make sure to rinse the area thoroughly until all the soap is gone. This step is important as any soap residue left on robe can create more problems when trying to remove stain.
Once your robe is thoroughly rinsed, it’s time to apply a spot treatment or specialty stain remover designed for oil-based stains. Follow the directions provided on the packaging for best results.
Once spot treatment has had time to work its magic, wash the robe as normal, either by hand or in the washing machine. Make sure to use cold water only. After the cycle is finished, dry the robe according to how the fabric is normally washed. Don’t put it in dryer right away as this may set the stain.
