Salad dressing stains can be a tricky business, so the first step is to assess the condition of the stain. Is it recent, or has it been there for a while? The sooner you act, better the chances of successful stain removal. If stain is more than a few hours old, it should be soaked in warm water with a few drops of liquid detergent before proceeding.
Mix a solution of detergent and warm water, then apply it to the stained fabric with a soft cloth or sponge. Be sure to work the solution into fibers of the fabric, taking care not to rub too hard. Let the solution sit for 5-10 minutes, then rinse with clean water.
If the detergent solution does not completely remove the stain, you can try an oxidizing solution. To prepare this solution, mix one part hydrogen peroxide and one part water in a bowl. Dip a soft cloth into the solution, then apply it to the stain. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then rinse with clean water.
If oxidizing solution did not work, you can try treating the stain with vinegar. Simply soak a cloth or sponge in a solution of white vinegar and water (50/50 mix), then dab the stain. Let this sit for 5-10 minutes, then rinse with clean water.
Once you have finished treating stain, it's important to give the fabric a good rinse with clean water. Then, hang up the item to dry. Make sure it is completely dry before storing away.
With these steps, you should be able to easily remove salad dressing stains from rayon. Just remember to act quickly, as the longer you wait, harder it will be to get rid of stain!
