When you’re busy snacking on or digging into a delicious salad, the last thing you want to do is make a mess. But accidentally spilling salad dressing on your pullover happens to the best of us. If you find yourself dealing with stubborn dressing stains, don’t panic. Thankfully, there are several simple methods to help get rid of them quickly and easily.

Step 1: Gently Blot the Stain

First, you’ll want to gently remove any excess dressing from your top. Grab some paper towels and lightly blot stain to soak up as much of the dressing as possible. Don’t rub or scrub too hard, otherwise, you could spread stain.

Step 2: Pre-Treat the Stain With Detergent

Next, you’ll need to pre-treat the stain with a laundry detergent or stain remover. Spray the cleaner directly onto the stain and let it sit for several minutes before attempting to rinse.

Step 3: Wash the Pullover With Cold Water

Gently rinse stained area of the pullover with cold water. Do not use warm or hot water, as this can cause the stain to set in even more. Avoid using the spin cycle, as this could make the stain worse.

Step 4: Air Dry or Tumble Dry on Low Heat

When the pullover is finished washing, hang it up or gently lay it flat to air dry. You can also tumble dry the pullover on the lowest heat setting. Avoid using high heat, as this could also cause the stain to set.

With these easy-to-follow steps, you’ll have your beloved pullover back in tip-top shape in no time.
