What You'll Need

  • Sponge or soft cloth
  • Mild detergent
  • White vinegar
  • Small bowl

Instructions

  1. Using a clean sponge or soft cloth, blot the stained area gently to remove any excess dressing.
  2. Mix 1 teaspoon of mild detergent with 1 cup of warm water in a small bowl.
  3. Dip the sponge or cloth into mixture, then wring it out so that it is damp but not soaking wet.
  4. Apply the damp cloth to stained area and gently rub in a circular motion.
  5. If stain persists, mix a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water, and dampen your cloth again. Apply this to the stain, then rinse in cool water and blot until dry.

Additional Tips

  • Always test any cleaning solution on a hidden area of the fabric before applying it to the stained area.
  • If the stain persists after the above steps, use a store-bought stain remover specifically formulated for removing oil-based stains.
