The first step in removing a salad dressing stain from a pencil skirt is to blot the area with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel. Blotting will help absorb as much of the liquid as possible before applying any cleaning solution. Keep blotting until you can no longer remove any of the stain. Avoid rubbing the stain, as this will make it worse.
Once you have blotted the stain, it's time to treat it with a cleaning solution. You can use either a store-bought stain remover or a mixture of warm water and laundry detergent. Apply the solution to the area and gently rub it in to help lift the stain. Allow the solution to sit on the stain for a few minutes before rinsing it off with cold water.
Once you have treated the stain, it's time to launder the skirt. Be sure to check the care label before laundering, as some fabrics may be too delicate for the washing machine. If it's safe, place the skirt in the washing machine with a mild detergent and warm water. Dry the skirt according to the care instructions, and enjoy fresh, clean look of your favorite pencil skirt.
