Step 1: Blot Stain with a Clean Sponge
Begin by blotting the stain with a clean sponge or cloth. Make sure not to rub the fabric, as this may cause the stain to spread further. Instead, use a gentle dabbing action while making sure to also gently rinse the stained area with cold water in between.
Step 2: Dilute Vinegar with Water
Mix up a solution of half vinegar and half water and apply it to stain with a sponge or cloth. Let the mixture sit for about 15 minutes, then rinse the area with cold water.
Step 3: Apply a Mild Detergent
Apply a mild detergent or shaving foam directly to the stain and let it sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it away with cold water.
Step 4: Rub with Alcohol
In a pinch, you can also try rubbing the area with a cloth soaked in rubbing alcohol. Wait a few minutes for the alcohol to evaporate before proceeding to Step 5.
Step 5: Wash with Detergent
Finally, launder the garment according to the fabric's care label instructions.
Conclusion
With these easy steps, you can easily get rid of any pesky salad dressing stains on your clothing. Just remember to always test a small area of fabric first with any cleaning solution and follow fabric's care instructions.
