To remove salad dressing stains from muslin, start by pre-treating the stained area with a laundry pretreatment product. Then, launder the garment as usual according to the care label instructions. If possible, take advantage of pre-soak cycle on the washing machine. Alternatively, you can hand-wash muslin garment in warm soapy water. For stubborn stains, add a few tablespoons of baking soda or any other similar cleaning product to detergent.

If the stain persists after laundering, you can try soaking the muslin garment in a solution of one part white vinegar and two parts water for up to an hour. Afterward, try to gently brush away the remainder of the stain with a soft-bristled brush. Once the stain is removed, wash the muslin as previously mentioned.

If you’re dealing with a particularly problematic stain, you may need to use a stronger solution. Prepare a more powerful cleaning mixture by adding a teaspoon of dishwashing detergent to a cup of warm water. Dip a clean white cloth into mixture and dab the stained area repeatedly. When done, rinse the fabric with cold water and then launder it to remove any remaining residue.

To finish, let the muslin dry thoroughly in the sun. If possible, turn the garment inside out while drying, to avoid discoloration.
