How To Remove Salad Dressing Stains from Merino Wool Fabrics
Salad dressing stains can be tricky to remove from certain fabrics, especially if the fabric is delicate, like Merino wool. Luckily, with the right cleaning method, those stains won’t stand a chance!

For Merino wool fabrics that have been stained by salad dressing, you’ll need a gentle and effective cleaning solution. Start by mixing 1 teaspoon of mild laundry detergent with 2 cups of warm water. Then add 1 teaspoon of white vinegar to the solution.
Dampen a clean, white cloth with the mixture and blot the stained area of the fabric, working from the outside in. You’ll want to avoid scrubbing or rubbing the fabric too hard, as this could damage the fibers.
Once the salad dressing stain has been removed, use a damp, clean cloth to rinse area. Blot dry with a clean towel and allow it to air dry.
If the stain has set in, it may require more than one treatment to remove it. If the stain persists after above-mentioned steps, you’ll need to use a stronger cleaning solution. Mix 1 teaspoon of a grease-fighting dishwashing liquid with 2 cups of warm water. Apply the solution to the stain using same technique as before and then rinse with a damp cloth.
After the stain has been removed, launder the garment according to tag instructions. Avoid using hot water and harsh detergents, as these may cause damage to the fabric.
