The first step to removing salad dressing stains from macramé is to gently rinse off the excess sauce from the fabric. Avoid rubbing stain or you could end up spreading it further. You can use a damp cloth, or you can hold the stained area under running water for about a minute. Then, blot the affected area of the fabric with a paper towel or a dry cloth.

If the stain remains after rinsing, then you will need to create a detergent solution. Start by mixing one tablespoon of laundry detergent with two cups of warm water in a bowl. Using a soft-bristled brush, gently scrub the stained area with this mixture. You will want to concentrate on spot where the stain is located. After scrubbing, rinse the area with a damp cloth and again, avoid rubbing the stain.

If the stain is still visible, you can try a Spot Remover. Begin by dampening the stained area with warm water and then applying a small amount of Spot Remover onto stain. Let the cleaner sit on fabric for a few minutes and then carefully scrub the area with a soft-bristled brush. Finally, rinse the area with a damp cloth and you should be good to go.

Finally, if stain is still present after attempting the cleaning process, then you will want to take your macramé to a professional cleaner. They will be able to use specialized products and equipment to more effectively remove stubborn stain.
