Mix together one tablespoon of baking soda and two tablespoons of white vinegar to make a paste. Now, apply this paste directly on affected area and let it sit for a few minutes.
Once the paste has dried, brush it off with a cloth or brush. Gradually, the stain should start disappearing. If it doesn’t, repeat the process until the stain is gone.
If you don’t have baking soda and vinegar handy, try using some table salt. Simply wet the fabric, then sprinkle the salt onto the stained area.
Using a soft cloth, rub the salt gently into the stain. Repeat the process until the stain disappears. Finally, rinse the fabric with cold water. The spot should be clear after a few attempts.
This method is best suited for lighter-colored fabrics. Squeeze some lemon juice on the stain and work in some mild liquid laundry detergent. Gently dab stain with a soft cloth and let it sit. After a few minutes, rinse the fabric with cold water, and the stain should completely disappear.
Dissolve one teaspoon of white vinegar in a cup of milk. Soak the affected area in this solution for an hour. After that, rinse the fabric with cold water. The vinegar-milk mixture should do the trick!
Accidental food spills can put a damper on any outfit. But, with the proper cleaning techniques, you can easily rid your linen garments of even the toughest of stains – like those from salad dressing. With the methods discussed above, you’ll be able to keep your favorite linen outfits looking as good as new for longer.
