The first step when cleaning salad dressing stains from lace is to carefully blot the affected area with a cloth or paper towel. Use steady pressure to absorb as much of the salad dressing as you can before moving on to next step.
If you have a spot-treatment cleaning product for delicate fabrics, then use it on the stained area. Apply the product according to the instructions on bottle and remember to always test it on a small, hidden area of the fabric first.
If the spot-treatment wasn't enough to get rid of the stain, then it's time to rinse the area with cold water. You should also add a mild detergent to the water to help loosen the stain. Use a cloth or sponge to carefully rub and scrub the stained area.
Once the stain has been treated, it's time to hand-wash the fabric. Fill a basin with lukewarm water and a mild detergent and soak the garment in it for 15-20 minutes. Make sure to gently agitate the fabric every 5 minutes or so to help work the detergent in.
After the garment has been soaked, rinse it with lukewarm water to remove the detergent from the fabric. You should also check the stained area to make sure the stain has been completely removed.
Once the garment has been thoroughly rinsed, hang it up to dry using a clothesline or a drying rack. Make sure the fabric is laid out flat on rack so that no creases form.
Lastly, if you want to get rid of any stubborn wrinkles, you can use an iron on low heat. Be sure to use a pressing cloth between the iron and the fabric, as this will prevent any damage to the lace.
