For minor stains on your kitchen utensils, a little bit of elbow grease can go a long way. Start by submerging your utensil in hot water. If possible, also add some dish soap to the water. Allow the utensil to soak in the soapy water for several minutes before scrubbing it with a soft abrasive sponge.
For tougher stains, you may need to take extra steps. Try combining baking soda and white vinegar. Mix 1 tbsp of baking soda and 2 tbsp of white vinegar in a bowl and use a soft sponge to scrub the stained area. This combination should help dissolve even the toughest of stains.
Another effective method for getting rid of tough stains is to mix together dishwashing detergent and white vinegar. This combination should help break down the oily residue left behind from the dressing. Mix 1 tsp of dishwashing detergent and 2 tbsp of white vinegar into a bowl and scrub the stained area with a soft sponge. Rinse the utensil off afterwards with warm water.
If you’re looking for a more natural solution, try mixing together lemon juice and cream of tartar. The acidity of the lemon juice should help break down the stain while the cream of tartar adds an abrasive texture to help scrub it away. Simply mix 1 tbsp of lemon juice and 1 tsp of cream of tartar in a bowl and apply it to the stained area. Use a soft sponge to scrub it off. Rinse the utensil afterwards with warm water.
No matter how careful you are, you'll inevitably end up with salad dressing stains on your kitchen utensils. By following the tips outlined above, however, you should be able to quickly and easily remove those pesky stains — leaving your utensils looking like new.
