Tackling Fresh Stains

If you catch the stain as soon as possible, you’re in luck! Fresh stains tend to be easier to get rid of, so make sure to act fast.

  • Blot the stain with a clean, dry cloth or paper towel.
  • Sprinkle some baking soda or table salt on the stain and let it sit for a few minutes.
  • Rinse the area with cold water until the stain is gone.
  • If necessary, repeat steps 2-3 until the stain is completely lifted.
  • Let the garment air dry.

Dealing With Set-In Stains

If stain isn’t coming out with the quick fix above, you may need to use a few special ingredients. Here are the steps to follow:

  • Mix one tablespoon of dish soap with one tablespoon of white vinegar, then add two cups of warm water.
  • Soak the stained area of garment in the mixture for 30 minutes.
  • Rinse the fabric with cold water.
  • Continue to rinse until the stain is completely removed.
  • Let the garment air dry.

Tips

  • Always test the fabric and solution on a small, inconspicuous area of the garment before you start. This will prevent any possible damage from occurring.
  • If the vinegar and soap solution doesn’t work, you can buy a special enzyme cleaner for getting rid of stubborn stains.
