Start by taking a damp paper towel and gently blotting the stain to remove any excess debris. Be careful not to press too hard or you may risk damaging the fabric.
Create a solution of warm water and a gentle, color-safe detergent. You should use about ¼ teaspoon of detergent for each cup of water. Soak the headband in solution for 10 to 20 minutes, then rinse it with warm water.
Using a cotton swab, apply a small amount of non-chlorinated spot remover directly onto the stain, and let it sit for several minutes. Then take a clean, damp cloth and blot the area to remove the spot remover and any remaining stain.
Lay headband flat on a towel and allow it to air dry completely. Don't put it in the dryer, as this could cause damage and shrinkage.
With these simple steps, your headbands will be looking like new in no time. Cleaning salad dressing stains from headbands is a breeze when you know how!
