Before making any attempts to scrub or remove stain, use a clean piece of cloth to gently blot the stained area. This will remove some of the excess oil or dressing that is usually found on the fabric.
Next, apply a liquid laundry detergent specifically designed for pre-treating stains to the stained area. Be sure to check the label to ensure detergent is safe for use on georgette fabric. Let the detergent sit on the fabric for approximately 30 minutes.
Once the stain has been pre-treated, it is time to wash the fabric. Set the washing machine to a warm water cycle and add the appropriate amount of detergent. Allow the fabric to go through the entire washing cycle, then hang it up to dry.
If the stain has not been completely removed after the entire washing cycle, it may be necessary to spot treat the area before drying. Use a new and clean cloth along with a mild detergent made for delicates and gently rub the area. Then hang the fabric up to air dry.
Getting salad dressing stains out of georgette fabric does not have to be a difficult process. With a little bit of patience and the right techniques, you can easily remove the stains from your beloved garments. Always be sure to check the label before pre-treating and washing and your pieces will be looking brand-new again in no time!
