The first thing you should do is grab a clean cloth or paper towel and blot the affected area to lift as much of salad dressing as possible. Do not rub the area as this might spread the stain further; instead, just gently blot the area until no more liquid comes off.

If that doesn't work, you can try using club soda or white vinegar to help remove the stain. Start by pouring either of these liquids on a clean cloth and dabbing the stained area. If that doesn't work, try mixing a tablespoon of washing or dish detergent with two cups of water, then apply it to the stained area and blot it with a clean cloth. Rinse with warm water and repeat if necessary until the stain disappears.

For tougher stains, you can purchase an enzyme-based cleaner at your local grocery store and follow the directions on the package. Enzyme based cleaners work by breaking down the organic material causing the stain. Finally, make sure to rinse the area with warm water and allow it to air dry to prevent any additional staining.

Removing pesky salad dressing stains does not have to be as tedious or as difficult as you may think. With simple tips mentioned above, you can clean up nearly any type of salad dressing stain in no time.
