The first step to removing a salad dressing stain from fleece is making sure you act quickly! Don’t let the salad dressing sit and soak in. The longer salad dressing sits the more likely it will be difficult to remove.
Fill a bowl or basin with cold water and add a few drops of gentle detergent. Submerge the stained area of the fleece and soak for one hour. Then, use a soft-bristled brush to scrub the area gently. Rinse out suds afterward and let the clothing air dry.
If first method doesn’t do the trick, you can try a bleach solution. Mix one part bleach to four parts cold water and place the stained area underneath. Let it sit for no more than five minutes and then rinse with cold water until the bleach has been fully removed.
If you live in a sunny area you may be able to take advantage of the power of the sun to help remove a salad dressing stain from your fleece. Place the clothing in direct sunlight and leave it there for a few hours. The ultraviolet rays from sun can help break down the stain, making it easier to remove the rest with a gentle detergent.
If you’re out of luck with other methods, spot treat the stain with a stain remover and place the fleece in the washing machine on a cold cycle with detergent. This can often work well even if other methods haven’t, as long as you use a gentle detergent to prevent damage to fabric.
