Pre-dampen Stain with Clean Water

Before applying any stain removal solution, begin by pre-dampening the stain with clean, cold water. This helps to dilute the stain and ensure that it doesn’t spread.

Mix a Spot Clean Solution

To create a spot cleaning solution for removing salad dressing stains, mix two tablespoons of white vinegar with two tablespoons of baking soda in a bowl. Stir mixture until it forms a paste.

Apply the Paste to the Stain

Once the paste is mixed apply it to the stained area, focusing the paste on the center of the stain. Allow the paste to sit and soak into the fabric for 15 minutes.

Handwash Area

After allowing the paste to soak, use a damp, clean cloth to rub the paste into the fabric. Rinse the cloth frequently in cold water as you work.

Launder the Clothing

After spot cleaning the area, launder the clothing in cold water using a gentle detergent. Inspect the stain after laundering to ensure that it has been removed.

Repeat if Necessary

If stain remains after laundering, repeat the spot cleaning process again until it disappears.
