Things You'll Need for Cleaning Salad Dressing Stains
- White vinegar
- Cold water
- Soft cloth
- Dry cleaning solution
- Warm water
- Laundry detergent
- Stain remover
How To Remove Salad Dressing Stains From Down Jackets
- If the stain is fresh, use a soft cloth and cold water to blot up any excess liquid.
- Then, mix a solution of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts cold water, and use a cloth to gently blot at the stain from the outside in.
- Once the stain has been blotted away, let the area air dry.
- If stain doesn’t come out, or if you’re dealing with an old stain, try a dry cleaning solution.
- Mix a solution of 1 part warm water and 1 part dry cleaning solution, and use a cloth to gently dab at the stain.
- If the stain persists, mix a solution of 1 part warm water and 1 part laundry detergent, and use a cloth to dab at the stain from outside in.
- Use a clean cloth to wipe away the cleaning mixture, then let the area air dry.
- If the stain still won’t come out, apply a stain remover to affected area and let it sit for a few minutes before washing.
- Once the area has soaked, rinse off the mixture with cold water and let the area air dry.
