Things You'll Need for Cleaning Salad Dressing Stains

  • White vinegar
  • Cold water
  • Soft cloth
  • Dry cleaning solution
  • Warm water
  • Laundry detergent
  • Stain remover

How To Remove Salad Dressing Stains From Down Jackets

  1. If the stain is fresh, use a soft cloth and cold water to blot up any excess liquid.
  2. Then, mix a solution of 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts cold water, and use a cloth to gently blot at the stain from the outside in.
  3. Once the stain has been blotted away, let the area air dry.
  4. If stain doesn’t come out, or if you’re dealing with an old stain, try a dry cleaning solution.
  5. Mix a solution of 1 part warm water and 1 part dry cleaning solution, and use a cloth to gently dab at the stain.
  6. If the stain persists, mix a solution of 1 part warm water and 1 part laundry detergent, and use a cloth to dab at the stain from outside in.
  7. Use a clean cloth to wipe away the cleaning mixture, then let the area air dry.
  8. If the stain still won’t come out, apply a stain remover to affected area and let it sit for a few minutes before washing.
  9. Once the area has soaked, rinse off the mixture with cold water and let the area air dry.
