What You Need to Get Started

  • White paper towels
  • Mild detergent
  • Unscented laundry detergent or laundry powder
  • Distilled white vinegar
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Soft bristle brush

Step 1: Soak the Stain

Soak the stained area in cool water for up to 15 minutes. This helps to loosen up the salad dressing and make it easier to remove.

Step 2: Apply Detergent

Apply a small amount of mild detergent in the stain and let it sit for a few minutes. Use a soft bristle brush to gently scrub the area to help lift the stain.

Step 3: Rinse With Vinegar

Mix 1 part distilled white vinegar with 4 parts of cold water and dab it onto the stained area. Leave it on for up to 10 minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Step 4: Wash Clothes

Put your clothes into a washing machine filled with cold water and add some unscented laundry detergent or laundry powder. Wash the clothes on a delicate cycle. Do not put it into the dryer until the stain has been completely removed.

Step 5: Use Hydrogen Peroxide

If the stain remains after washing, dab some hydrogen peroxide onto stain and let it sit for a few minutes before rinsing with cold water. You may have to repeat this process a few times until the stain is completely gone.
