Method 1: Rubbing Alcohol and Soap Solution

You may not know it, but rubbing alcohol is actually a great choice when it comes to removing salad dressing stains from fabrics. Just mix equal parts of rubbing alcohol and warm water in a bowl to create a cleaning solution. Next, add a small amount of mild detergent and stir gently.

Apply the solution to stained area with a soft cloth or sponge. Rub gently but firmly, working mixture into the fabric. Let it sit for about five minutes, then rinse it with cold water. Finally, launder the garment as you usually would.

Method 2: Dishwashing Liquid and White Vinegar

If your garment is particularly delicate, you may want to use a milder approach. To do so, mix equal parts of dishwashing liquid and white vinegar in a small bowl. Apply the solution to the stain using a soft cloth or sponge and gently rub it into the fabric. Allow it to sit for five minutes, then rinse it with cold water.

Once the stain is gone, launder garment as you normally would. Keep in mind that white vinegar can cause discoloration in some fabrics, so you may want to do a patch test before using this method.

Method 3: Baking Soda and Hydrogen Peroxide

If the stain is still proving to be stubborn, try mixing a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. Collect 1 tablespoon of baking soda and 1/4 cup of hydrogen peroxide in a small bowl and stir until it forms a thick paste. Apply the paste to stained area, then let it sit for 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, gently scrub the paste off the fabric using a soft cloth or sponge. Rinse the stained area with cold water, then launder garment as you normally would. Repeat if the stain is still present.

Conclusion

No one likes to deal with stubborn salad dressing stains on clothing, but thankfully there are ways to remove them. The three methods outlined here should help you get your garments looking good as new in no time!
