When dealing with any type of stain, it’s important to act quickly. When it comes to salad dressing on cotton, the sooner you start treating the stain, the better. Start by lightly blotting the area with a clean cloth, while trying not to push the stain further into the fabric. When cleaning the stain, avoid using hot water or rubbing the stained area too vigorously.
To remove stain, mix together a solution of one teaspoon liquid laundry detergent, one teaspoon white vinegar and two cups cold water. Soak a cloth with mixture and use it to gently scrub stained area before rinsing with cold water. Finally, you should launder the garment according to its care instructions.
Another method for removing the stain is to pre-treat it with a liquid detergent and let it soak in cold water overnight. The next day, dab the stained area with a paper towel to remove any excess liquid and then rinse it with cold water. The keep garment damp, wrap it in a paper towel and press it with a warm iron. Once it has dried, rinse it with cold water again and launder normally.
