We all want our cocktail dress to sparkle and shine no matter the occasion. But when we spill some salad dressing on it, it can be a real disaster.

No need to worry. Here are 3 simple steps you can use to effectively remove salad dressing stains from your cocktail dress.

Step 1: Use Soap and Water

As soon as possible, remove the salad dressing stain using soap and cold water. Wipe it with a soft cloth or gently scrub it with a toothbrush.

To make sure the stain is completely gone, use a dry cloth to dab the affected area. This will also help stop the stain from setting in.

Step 2: Try White Vinegar

If step one didn’t do the trick, white vinegar is the next best thing. Mix 1 part white vinegar and 2 parts warm water, and soak the stained area in the solution.

Use a soft bristled toothbrush to gently scrub the fabric. Rinse the area with warm water, and hang up your dress outside to air dry.

Step 3: Use Detergent

If there is still some residue left after trying first two steps, use detergent and warm water to remove it.

Mix 1 tablespoon of detergent with 2 cups of warm water, and let the stained area soak for 10-15 minutes. Then rinse off with warm water and let the dress dry normally.

If the stain still won’t budge, you can apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol directly onto the stain. Just be sure to test it on a hidden part of the dress before using.

Conclusion

With these 3 simple steps, you can get rid of those pesky salad dressing stains on your cocktail dress. Just remember to act quickly and use right cleaning method, and your dress will be good as new.
