What You’ll Need

  • Clean cloth
  • Cold water
  • Dish soap
  • White vinegar
  • Hydrogen peroxide (optional)

Instructions

  1. Blot up as much of the excess salad dressing as possible with a clean cloth.
  2. Wet the affected area with cold water.
  3. Apply a small amount of dish soap directly onto the stain and rub gently in a circular motion for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Rinse off the soap with cold water.
  5. Mix equal parts white vinegar and cold water and apply to stain.
  6. Allow the solution to sit for 5 minutes before blotting dry with a clean cloth.
  7. If the stain does not come out entirely, combine equal parts hydrogen peroxide and cold water and repeat steps 5 and 6.

Tips

  • Try to act quickly after noticing the stain. The quicker you are, the more likely you will be able to get it out.
  • Be sure to check to see if fabric is colourfast before applying any liquid solution.
  • For tougher stains, you may need to take your chinos to the dry cleaners.
