Get Rid of Salad Dressing Stains from Chinos with Ease
Salad dressing stains can be difficult to remove from light colored or patterned chinos. However, it’s not impossible. With a few simple tricks and a bit of effort, you can get rid of these pesky spots so your chinos look like new again.

What You’ll Need
- Clean cloth
- Cold water
- Dish soap
- White vinegar
- Hydrogen peroxide (optional)
Instructions
- Blot up as much of the excess salad dressing as possible with a clean cloth.
- Wet the affected area with cold water.
- Apply a small amount of dish soap directly onto the stain and rub gently in a circular motion for 1-2 minutes.
- Rinse off the soap with cold water.
- Mix equal parts white vinegar and cold water and apply to stain.
- Allow the solution to sit for 5 minutes before blotting dry with a clean cloth.
- If the stain does not come out entirely, combine equal parts hydrogen peroxide and cold water and repeat steps 5 and 6.
Tips
- Try to act quickly after noticing the stain. The quicker you are, the more likely you will be able to get it out.
- Be sure to check to see if fabric is colourfast before applying any liquid solution.
- For tougher stains, you may need to take your chinos to the dry cleaners.
