Pre-Treat the Stain

In order to get rid of the stain, you’ll need to pre-treat it first. Begin by dabbing warm water on the affected area to help loosen stain. Next, apply a small amount of laundry detergent directly to the stain and gently rub it into fabric with a soft cloth or brush. Allow the detergent to sit for 5 minutes before moving on to next step.

Wash Item

Once the pre-treatment is complete, you can proceed to washing the capris. Remove any remaining detergent residue, then submerge the item in warm water and agitate gently. Add a bit of laundry detergent and a capful of vinegar to the water and let fabric soak for 30 minutes. Rinse item thoroughly, then check to see if the stain is still present. If it is, repeat the process until stain has been completely eliminated.

Dry Item

After the capris have been washed, take them out of water and wring out all the excess moisture. Hang them up on a drying rack or clothesline and allow them to air-dry. Do not put the capris in the dryer before the stain is completely gone, as this could cause the stain to set permanently.

Conclusion

Though it may seem daunting at first, removing salad dressing stains from capris is actually quite easy. Just follow steps outlined above and you’ll have those pesky stains out of your summer wardrobe in no time.
