Briefs often make a statement, whether they're plain or adorned with prints and bright colors. If a bit of salad dressing gets on them, however, they may no longer look their best. The good news is that with the right cleaning tips and materials, you can easily get rid of stain and restore your brief's appearance.

What You'll Need

  • Paper towels
  • White vinegar
  • Liquid detergent
  • Bucket
  • Cotton swab

Instructions

  1. Gently blot stained area with paper towels. Do this carefully so you don't damage the fabric.
  2. Mix a solution of vinegar and water in equal parts in a bucket. Soak the stained area in the mixture for 10-15 minutes.
  3. Use a cotton swab to dab some liquid detergent on the stain. Rub it in gently.
  4. Soak the stained area with cold water for about 10 minutes. Then, rinse out the detergent using warm water.
  5. Once the detergent is gone, bloat the area with paper towels again to absorb any remaining moisture. Lay the briefs out to dry. Do not put them in the dryer.

Tips for Preventing Salad Dressing Stains

  • Always keep napkins nearby and be sure to use them while eating.
  • Wear dark colored briefs when eating food with a lot of sauce or dressing.
  • Avoid sitting on furniture and chairs while eating, especially if you know the fabric is light colored.
  • If possible, try to take off your briefs and wear something else while eating.
