The quickest and easiest way to remove a salad dressing stain from your boots is to use a cloth or paper towel dampened with a mild dish soap solution. Rub the stain in a circular motion, working it off the boot until all of the substance is gone.
If the stain still persists, purchase a specialty leather or suede cleaner from your local store. Follow the directions on the bottle and apply the cleaning solution using an old toothbrush.
Test a small inconspicuous area of the boot first to ensure that the cleaner won’t cause any damage.
Another effective home remedy is to dab a cotton swab in white vinegar and blot away at the stain. Make sure to do this on a clean towel since the vinegar may discolor your boots if applied directly on them.
Rinse boot with warm water and let dry for a few hours before wearing.
Finally, finish the job by treating your boots with a leather sealant. This will protect the material from future staining, as well as leave them looking good as new!
