Oil-based salad dressings like Caesar, Thousand Island, and Ranch can cause tough stains on fabric that can be impossible to remove if not treated immediately. Here's how to tackle them head-on:
Grab a clean, white cloth, and start blotting away at the stain. Avoid rubbing in an effort to scrub out the stain, as this can cause it to spread. Keep blotting until no more of substance is lifted from the fabric.
Next, pour some warm water on the stain and rub a mild liquid detergent into it. Make sure to only use detergents specifically made for cleaning clothing, as the wrong kind could damage or discolor your Alexander McQueen garments.
After treating with soap, rinse the area with warm water, then let the garment sit in a tub of lukewarm water and a half-cup of laundry detergent for one hour. This will help break down the oils in the dressing and make it easier to remove.
Finally, launder the garment according to its care label instructions. Be sure to check the stain before putting it in the dryer, as heat can set the stain permanently.
By following these four easy steps, you'll have your Alexander McQueen fabric looking spotless in no time.
