The first thing you should do is rinse off any excess dressing as soon as possible. Take the garment outside and hold it over a sink or bucket while you run cold water over the stain. Make sure to use just cold water, as hot water can set the stain further. You want to try and press the fabric together gently in order to help break up the stain and help it come off more effectively.
Once you have washed off the excess dressing, you’ll want to use a detergent specifically designed for delicate fabrics. Put a small amount of detergent onto a sponge and then rub it over the stain in a circular motion. This will help to loosen the stain, making it easier to remove.
When you’ve finished rubbing the detergent into the stain, rinse the garment thoroughly with cold water again. Then, hang it up on a clothesline or drying rack to air dry. Do not put it in the dryer, as this can cause stain to set permanently.
