Step 1: Gather Your Supplies

To start off your cleaning project, you'll need to gather a few supplies. Make sure you have the following items before starting:

  • A small bowl
  • White vinegar
  • A microfiber cloth
  • Baking soda

Step 2: Make Your Paste

Mix two parts white vinegar with one part baking soda to make a paste. This is an effective, all-natural cleaner for rust stains. Scoop the paste into the bowl and stir until it forms an even consistency.

Step 3: Apply the Paste

Now it's time to apply the paste to your tie. Using your microfiber cloth, gently spread paste onto the rust stain. Be sure to use circular motions, covering entire area of the stain. Allow the paste to sit for 10-15 minutes.

Step 4: Rinse With Cold Water

Once the paste has had time to sit, rinse the tie with cold water. Be sure to remove all of the paste from fabric. You may want to do a second rinse with cold water to ensure all of the paste is removed.

Step 5: Allow the Tie to Air Dry

Finally, hang up the tie and allow it to air dry. Once the tie has completely dried, you should notice a significant difference in the rust stain. If the stain is still present, you may need to repeat the process a few times.
