Before you start cleaning your camping gear, you'll need to make sure you have the right supplies. Pick up some white vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, baking soda, and a few scouring pads. These items can be found at most local supermarkets so you should have no trouble tracking them down.
1. Start off by mixing equal parts white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide together in a bowl. This will create a non-abrasive cleaning paste.
2. Take the cleaning paste and apply it to the rust stained area with a scouring pad. Once area is covered, allow the paste to sit for 10-15 minutes.
3. After 10-15 minutes, take a wet cloth and rub the stained area. This will help to further break down the rust stains and remove them.
4. Finally, take some baking soda and a damp cloth and rub it into the fabric in the same spot. This will help to neutralize the acidity of the white vinegar and hydrogen peroxide.
Following these steps will help you remove the rust stains from your camping gear, leaving it looking as good as new. Just make sure you use proper supplies and remember to be gentle with your gear while cleaning.
