Before you start cleaning the rust stain, make sure you have all your supplies ready to use. You will need a plastic bowl, white vinegar, water, baking soda, a soft brush, and laundry detergent.
Mix together 2 parts white vinegar with 1 part water in your plastic bowl. If the rust stain is particularly stubborn, you may need to add more vinegar. Now, stir in 2 tablespoons of baking soda until it forms a paste.
Dip the soft brush into the paste and apply it directly to the rust stain on your tank top. Work in a circular motion until the paste covers the entire area. Be sure to scrub gently so that you don't damage the fabric. Let paste sit for at least 15 minutes.
Once paste is dry, rinse off your tank top with water. Then, put it in the washing machine with some laundry detergent and let it cycle through. After it's finished, check to see if the rust stain has been removed. If not, repeat these steps until it is gone.
