Instructions

  1. Mix together 1 tablespoon of white vinegar and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice.
  2. Put the solution onto rust stain and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  3. Scrub the solution gently with an old toothbrush.
  4. Rinse off the solution with lukewarm water.
  5. Use a damp cloth to soak up any remaining moisture from the area.
  6. Let the area air dry before wearing the sweatshirt.

Tips

  • You can also use salt instead of vinegar for this method.
  • Make sure to test any cleaning solutions or products on a small, hidden part of the fabric first to make sure it won't cause discoloration.
  • You can also try using baking soda with water or white vinegar and water to create a paste for scrubbing the rust stain.

Warnings

  • Never use bleach or chlorine-based cleaners on rust stains.
  • Do not put the clothing item in a dryer until the stain is gone.
