What You Need

  • Baking Soda
  • Toothbrush
  • White Vinegar
  • Paper Towels

Step 1: Make a Paste

Create a paste by mixing together two tablespoons of baking soda with one teaspoon of white vinegar. Stir it together until it is a thick paste.

Step 2: Apply and Let Sit

Apply the paste on to rust stains and then allow it to sit for 30 minutes.

Step 3: Scrub with Toothbrush

After the 30 minutes has elapsed, use the toothbrush to scrub the paste in circular motions over the rust stains. For tougher stains, you may need to apply additional paste and let it sit for longer (up to an hour).

Step 4: Rinse and Dry

Rinse the slippers with cool water to remove the paste and any residue. Once you have rinsed them, dry with paper towels; then allow the slippers to air dry completely before wearing.
