Achieve Spotless Sleep Shirts by Removing Those Stubborn Rust Stains

Rust stains can be fussy to remove, but if you know how to approach problem, it doesn't have to be difficult. Here’s some easy tips for cleaning rust from your sleep shirt, so you can look and feel your best.

When rust strikes, quick action is the key to preventing that pesky orange stain or spot from ruining clothes, including your favourite sleep shirt. Rust comes from iron in the air, and when it meets with water, it can leave a rust-like stain. Unfortunately, without the right methods, it’s almost impossible to get rid of. Here’s a few easy tips on how to clean rust off your sleep shirt.

Step One: Gather Your Materials

You will need the following materials to clean rust from your sleep shirt:

• White vinegar
• Baking soda
• Lemon juice
• Salt
• Toothbrush or soft brush

Step Two: Test Fabrics for Colorfastness

Test fabric of your shirt for colorfastness by treating an inconspicuous area first with a small quantity of the ingredients mentioned above. If there is no bleeding or discoloration after an hour, you should be good to go ahead with the stain removal process.

Step Three: Make a Paste Using Vinegar and Baking Soda

Pour 1 tablespoon of white vinegar in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of baking soda and mix them together until you obtain a paste-like consistency.

Step Four: Apply the Paste to the Stain

Apply the paste directly onto the rust stain with a toothbrush or soft brush. Allow it to sit for 30 minutes before moving onto the next step.

Step Five: Blot the Stain with Lemon Juice and Salt
