Soap and Water Method

The best way to remove rust stains from clothing is to use a combination of soap and warm water. Start by soaking the stained area in warm water and a small amount of mild detergent, and allow the item to soak for 30 minutes. Then, use a soft-bristled brush to scrub away the stain, working in a gentle, circular motion. Rinse the garment with cool water and check to see if the stain is gone. If not, repeat the process until stain disappears.

Nail Polish Remover Method

Another effective way to remove rust stains from clothing is to use nail polish remover. Start by pouring a small amount of nail polish remover onto a cotton ball and directly applying it to the stained area. Rub the solution into the fabric until the stain lifts. Then, rinse the item with cool water and launder the garment as usual.

Vinegar Method

Vinegar is a great natural way to get rid of rust stains. Start by diluting one part white vinegar with four parts water. Then, apply the solution to the stained area and allow it to sit for up to one hour. After solution has had time to work, use a clean cloth to rub away the rust stain. Once the stain is gone, rinse the garment in cool water and launder as usual.

Baking Soda Method

You can also use baking soda to remove rust stains from clothing. Start by creating a paste using baking soda and a small amount of water. Apply the paste directly to the stained area and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then, use a toothbrush to scrub away the stain. Rinse the garment with cool water and launder as usual.

Lemon Juice Method

Lemon juice is also an effective way to get rid of rust stains. Start by combining equal parts lemon juice and salt in a bowl. Apply the mixture to the stained area and let it sit for 10 minutes. Then, use a soft-bristled brush to scrub away the stain. When finished, rinse garment with cool water and launder as usual.
