What You'll Need

  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Cream of tartar
  • Hydrogen peroxide
  • Lemon juice
  • A soft-bristled brush

Instructions

  1. Mix equal parts white vinegar and baking soda to create a paste.
  2. Gently rub paste onto the rust stains.
  3. Allow the paste to sit for 15 minutes before rinsing it off with warm water.
  4. If the rust stain persists, mix a tablespoon of cream of tartar, hydrogen peroxide, and lemon juice together in a small bowl.
  5. Apply the mixture to the stain and scrub with a soft bristle brush.
  6. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.
  7. If necessary, repeat steps 1-6.

Tips

  • For best results, work on the rust stains as soon as possible.
  • If you do not have all of the ingredients on hand, you can use equal parts lemon juice and cream of tartar paste instead.
