rust

First, it is important to find the source of rust. If the rust is coming from an item you have placed on or against your sarong, such as jewelry, tools, or poolside furniture, it is important to remove it and to prevent further exposure to the fabric. If possible, avoid keeping items containing metal, or similar materials, near your sarong.

What You Need

  • Bowl
  • White vinegar
  • Baking soda
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt
  • Toothbrush
  • Towel

Instructions

  1. Fill a bowl with warm water and 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Submerge the stained area of the sarong and let sit for 10 minutes.
  2. Mix together 1 tablespoon of baking soda, 2 tablespoons of lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon of salt in a separate bowl. Rub this mixture onto the affected area with a toothbrush.
  3. After massaging the mixture into the fabric, rinse it with water. Repeat this process until you notice the rust stain fading.
  4. Pat the area dry with a towel and hang the sarong in direct sunlight. The ultraviolet light from the sun will help bleach the rust stain and make it less visible.

Conclusion

With these easy steps, you can have your favorite sarong looking like new in no time! Always remember to keep any items which may contain metal away from your sarong and to follow the necessary steps as soon as you notice a rust stain.
