What You Need

  • Leather cleaner or saddle soap
  • Soft brush
  • Clean cloth
  • White vinegar

Steps

  1. First, scrub affected area with a soft brush and leather cleaner or saddle soap. Make sure to gently apply the cleaner in circular motions to avoid damaging the lace.
  2. Once you are done scrubbing, take a clean cloth and blot off the excess cleaner.
  3. Now pour some white vinegar onto the area and let it sit for 10 minutes before wiping it off with a cloth.
  4. Finally, use a clean cloth to dry the affected area.

Additional Tips

  • If the rust stain does not come off after the first attempt, repeat the steps above until stain is completely removed.
  • Be sure to test any cleaners on a hidden area of the lace before using it as some cleaners may discolour fabric.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or bleach as this may damage the lace fabric irreversibly.
