Whether your raincoat has been swimming in the sea or just sitting in your closet for too long, rust stains are always unwelcome guests! Although they may seem impossible to remove, there are some tried and tested methods that can help you get rid of them. Here’s what you need to do to clean rust stains from your raincoat:

  • Create a mixture with equal parts lemon juice and cream of tartar. Make sure to wear gloves as this can be quite an acidic mixture!
  • Apply the mixture to the rust stains using a soft cloth. Rub gently and let it sit for a few minutes.
  • Wash your raincoat in the washing machine with a gentle detergent.
  • Rinse off any remaining rust stains with white vinegar.
  • Let your raincoat air dry.

With these easy steps, you should have your raincoat looking as good as new! Just remember to always read care label instructions before washing your raincoat to make sure it doesn't get ruined in the process. Depending on the type of fabric, you might need to use a different method of cleaning to make sure it stays in perfect shape.
